blank screen using Hitfilm Cinema Style Pack

Hi GWork.

Can I first ask which version of MEP Plus you are using and did you buy that pack or use the free version?

I ask because you seem to be trying to use the full software, not the Magix version, which will not run in MEP even if somehow you have managed to register it. Second it, is not The Hitfilm version that the current version of MEP is using but the New Blue one. See my install below.

Notice my version says Magix.

Hi,

In Program Settings, Display Options tab, Video mode, try changing this to Compatibility Mode or Alternative Mode.

Apologies.

They have changed the free pack giveaways and is indeed the Hitfilm version.

MEP should be compatible with Win 7 as long as you have the 64bit version.

Did John's solution work or have you got it sorted?

Hey guys here is the info. I tried to switch to Compatibility Mode (Video for Windows)
& I also tried using Alternative mode 2 ( Video mixing Rendering) but still the same result & only the black screen. I also restarted after trying to switch.

You are missing several patches - the latest version in 19.0.2.58 - IIRC one of the patches fixed the issue you are having, try updating the program to the current version - Help, Update online.

@johnebaker its interesting because when i try to update my version, it asks me to pay again. When i checked my Magix account , it says that my update service is valid until 05/2021

Hi

Looking at the install instruction page again it says that any upgrading of some hardware may need the user to re-register the product again using the code provided. Have you made any changes to your system?

Ray I downloaded it from the link in their purchase confirmation email. I had already paid for a full version 2 years ago. I ran the update service for about 1 year & it expired. Now I figured with a new purchase that I would get the latest version & the update again for 1 year. I just sent them an email at us-shop@magix.net so we'll see what they say.

Hi.

I also updated my my program this month. It's the second time I've renewed my subscription and have been able to keep MEP updated to the current version.

I take it you used the 'Help / Update online' from within MEP to try this. It should either bring up a dialogue box with the updates available or show 'No Updates Found'.

That dialogue box often comes up behind MEP so you may have to bring it up in front of MEP by clicking its icon on the task bar.

Sounds like it's reacting to an old activation code instead of the new one.

I hope you hear back from Magix soon. I've always found them very helpful.

What they will probably do is ask for your last emails order number to check.

Hey guys, here is the latest. Tech support said that i had the serial # of a previous version still on file. So I deactivated the old one, & registered with the new serial #, recently purchased. I was then able to Update to the latest version successfully, 19.0.2.58. I then retried to use the Hitfilm Cinema pack on a few clips. I tried Standard, Compatibility Mode, & alternative but still the same issue as previously described. Blank screen in the arranger/preview. I hear the audio but no video. When I turn the Hitfilm plug in - off, I can then see it again.

If so, then it may be time to give us your complete computer specs please.

If it's not a software issue (not completely ruled out yet but) then it may be hardware related.

Or it could be how the project you show above is set up. I had another closer look at your initial screen shot. Te track it's applied to could be on the wrong track to work but we need more information.

Can you therefore please add a screenshot of the whole project layout in the main editor and explain your settings in the Cine Style setup box?

I don't understand why those settings are as they are. I've put yours alongside how mine would be.

What are you trying to do? There could be a simpler or more effective way of doing this.

Looking at your screenshot I don't see where the plug-in isn't working.

Ps. You may want to remove the 'Resolved' bit.
