Blu-ray 3-D and MEP 2013

I am trying to understand this. If I have stereoscopic .MTS files, I can edit them into MEP, no problem.

I am using AVCHD TXP, that is Mpeg-4 AVC/H.264 960x1080i VBR 17 mbps.

According to this blu-ray authoring page by sony, the allowed resolutions for Blu-ray 3-D are:

    1920x1080 @ 23.976 fps progressive
    1280x720 @ 59.94 fps progressive
    1280x720 @ 50 fps progressive

You can mix 2D and 3D on the same Blu-ray Disc™. When you do so, you can use all of the allowable frame sizes and frame rates for 2D Blu-ray Disc™.

Does MEP 2013 convert my files? If so how?

How do I create an .MTS file, MEP will import them, but does MEP write them, if so how?

This camera does shoot mp4 MVC 1920x1080x2 24p, but does not import them in stereo into MEP.

Am I missing something?

Hi

MEP should convert your files to Bluray compliant files via the Bluray Burn screen, regardless of their imported resolution, to whatever resolution preset you choose from the top of the Bluray export window, and in whatever 3D configuration you choose in the same window in the dropdown next to the anaglyph glasses symbol. The conversion to an MTS (or M2TS) will occur after you press burn prior to the file created, being written to disc.

If you just want to create an MTS file on your computer then use the "File>Export movie>Video as Mpeg4" window and choose one of the AVCHD Transport Stream (=MTS) presets and appropriate 3D config. on the right.

This camera does shoot mp4 MVC 1920x1080x2 24p, but does not import them in stereo into MEP.

You may have to activate or purchase the MVC codec but also check that the Effects>Stereo3D>Properties dropdown has the correct preferred 3D configuration selected, and the mixdown box unchecked.

Hi

Depending on which version of MEP 2013 you are using the MVC video may not be supported.

From the MEP 2013 Premium manual there is a fee based activation for MVC codec - which should pop up a windows asking you to purchase the first time you add a MVC encoded video to the timeline.  The procedure for doing this is outlined under Help, Activate codecs.
