Blurry videos after Importing into video pro x

Grusso42 wrote on 12/14/2020, 4:20 AM

Hello, I’ve just recently started working with 360 video making and everytime so far when I export the 360 file, and then open it up in video pro X the video looks really blurry. And then when I export no matter what resolution it still looks fuzzy. Idk if it’s the export software, the go pro camera or the program.

My Computer specs: Intel core I9-9900kf CPU @3.60GHz

16 GB ram

64-Bit operating system, x64-based processor

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Magix Video Pro X user to user forum.

I don't think many if any of the regular contributing users here have or use a Go-Pro 360 or use 360 footage so replies may not be that fast in coming.

It would help if you listed the complete specs of your laptop including its graphics card. So C: drive size and amount of free space on it. Any external drives in use. Type and free space. Version and build of windows, graphics drivers, Version of VPX.

A file for us to be able to upload from somewhere to test would also be very useful.

Your laptop does not have an Intel GPU built in and I'm wondering if the rest of the laptops' specs meet the VPX minimum specs to run.

If that is the case it may well be reducing resolution while working in VPX to cope with processing the files in real time but should not be effecting output resolution of the final exported files.

One last question. Are you first converting them for use in the video editing program with the Go-Pro viewer app first before importing? That has to be done.

Ray.

Hi Giles and welcome to the forum.

As your processor does not have integrated graphics, which graphics card do you have installed?

Can you do a MediaInfo analysis of the 360 video you are importing and post the results from the Text view.

@CubeAce - the I9-9900kf  is a desktop processor.

Hi John.

Missed that, and right at the top of the info at Intel ark info as well. The f after the K threw me. I was checking for motherboard possible variants.

One reason I think it may look fuzzier is one is effectively zooming in on a portion of the whole frame to achieve the required view. That is going to reduce the available resolution although the export settings could also be a main factor. I'm not even sure I have the software to play back such a file to a normal screen from the PC.

Will VLC do it?

Hi Ray

The 'f' looked odd to me until I read that this processor was the i9-9900K without the integrated GPU.

Not having worked with 360 video and the little I did with 3D (which appears to be relegated to the 'been and gone category'), I assume the full 360 view is the front and back cameras stitched together to produce a super wide resolution image (5.7K?).

If the video is less than 5.7K then there certainly may be an issue with pixellation if the final output is going to be 4K 360 video.

There is also the case of whether the blue lightning symbol in the VPX Program Monitor is turned on - if it is then could be what is making the image look blurry.
