Bug: Audio clip is invisible after recording

The-Tesla-Hunt wrote on 9/8/2018, 1:58 AM
  • I began experiencing this problem after upgrading from 2018 to 2019.
  • Recording a voice clip in a project and then inserting the take afterwards will make it appear invisible in the timeline.
  • The voice clip IS there; it can be heard playing, but the voice clip simply can't be found in the timeline.
  • I'm able to record a voice clip and see it if I'm in a new project with no other objects in the timeline.
  • "Play while recording" is disabled, so the audio does not truncate.

Hi

I can replicate this - looks like a bug.

By default if track 4 is empty the recording will go on this track, however if the track is occuoied the recording should go on the next available track.

Testing with a project occupying 28 tracks with 1 free track (29) - see below - I have found the following:

  1. The audio recording is on track 2 however it is not visible despite the track being occupied.

  2. If track 1 is empty, using the Add track option, the recording goes on track 3 and crops/deletes any object occupying the same space.

  3. If tracks 1 -4 are empty, again using the Add track option - the recording is not saved.

  4. Reloading the project and increasing the track limit to 64 - the recording goes on to track 4 and crops/deletes any object occupying the same space.

Can anyone else confirm these findings or see an anomalous behaviour similar to the above.

Tested in MEP 18.0.1.205.

FYI - there is a new patch 18.0.1.207 that fixes the audio bug.
