By default if track 4 is empty the recording will go on this track, however if the track is occuoied the recording should go on the next available track.
Testing with a project occupying 28 tracks with 1 free track (29) - see below - I have found the following:
The audio recording is on track 2 however it is not visible despite the track being occupied.
If track 1 is empty, using the Add track option, the recording goes on track 3 and crops/deletes any object occupying the same space.
If tracks 1 -4 are empty, again using the Add track option - the recording is not saved.
Reloading the project and increasing the track limit to 64 - the recording goes on to track 4 and crops/deletes any object occupying the same space.
Can anyone else confirm these findings or see an anomalous behaviour similar to the above.
