Bugs still in Video Pro X17

I was so hoping that the two major bugs (at least for me) in Video Pro X would be fixed in Version 17, but they have not been fixed.

1. When recording video it will not hold it's settings from the last time I recorded. Thus I set it to what I want, then record, then want to record something else, but when I do it comes out blank unless I reaffirm the setting before I record video each time (just open the VIDEO EXPORT and then click OK before recording). If I don't do this I end up not recording anything, if I do this each time I get a good recording. Why will it not hold the previous settings from last used.

2. I set PROGRAM SETTINGS - DEVICE OPTIONS - VIDEO OUTPUT ACTIVATED to on and use the program for a while. Then exit it and return later to work on project and even though it is still checked as on, it is not working - so I have to click it off, close PROGRAM SETTINGS and then reopen it and click it on EVEY SINGLE TIME I RESTART THE PROGRAM for it to work. Why does it not just stay on?- It stays checked as if on, but it is not on unless turned off, closed, reopened, and clicked on.

Can you please pay some attention to these bugs in your system?

@preacherallen

First, please remember these are user to user forums so there is nothing any of us can do to pay some attention to these bugs, as you term them.

However, I think we need rather more detail about what you are actually doing.

First, why do you need to select VIDEO EXPORT before starting recording? What are you recording from? I regularly record from external sources like VHS or similar and have never needed that export setting, but the recording just works by using the Magix Capture module built-in to VPX.

Second, what do you need the Device Options>Video Output Activated setting for? That is again a setting I have never needed to use at any time, including when using VPX to record video!

@preacherallen

Hi

. . . . When recording video it will not hold it's settings from the last time I recorded.  . . . just open the VIDEO EXPORT and then click OK before recording . . . .

What are you trying to record, the screen, capture from a DV Camera or other device?

I cannot replicate this issue with the recording settings.

. . . . set PROGRAM SETTINGS - DEVICE OPTIONS - VIDEO OUTPUT ACTIVATED to on and use the program for a while. Then exit it and return later to work on project and even though it is still checked as on, it is not working . . . .

The usage of this setting was explained in your previous topic on this setting in VPX 16, here and here . The mode of operation is by design, and should only be set if you have a 3rd monitor attached to the computer.

. . . . Can you please pay some attention to these bugs in your system? . . . .

Thanks for the attention.

first - I am trying to do a screen record when the setting doesn't stay put. This is highly annoying.

secondly I am attaching am using a third screen to see what my output looks like on full screen. Sight not so good any more so the small Program and Source screens are rather small to see what it will look like on TV. Often things on the small screens look good and sharp, but in full screen it is not. This is what I want:

.

Note that the Source and Program windows are stacked in the left corner. I do not want to put the PROGRAM on the right monitor and then I have to move back and forth between monitors to change things like EFFECTS and etc. It also then does not show exactly what I will see on the TV, but it has lines around some things and etc. I have no problem getting it to where I want it to be, BUT then I would expect the effect to work if the check mark is checked when you turn it back on. The below screen is what happens when I exit the program and then restart it.

.

Note that the VIDEO OUTPUT ACTIVATED is still checked, BUT the screen on the right is not showing (this is my background). The ONLY way I know to get it back to showing as in first picture is to uncheck it, click ok which closes the dialog box, reopen it again, click on and OK then it comes up. This is Highly Annoying to have to do this every time you use the program.

Thirdly - How do I contact someone about these bugs that might be able to get them fixed. All I really want to do is to have the setting stay when closed and reopened, and do not understand why they don't.
