Burn DVD with MEP 2016 Premium

This is my newest MEP, Ver 15.0.0.114 (UDC2)

I usually render to MP4, but now a friend wants a film on DVD. But the program says NO! "Not available due to licensing conditions." Neither DVD nor BD, but AVCHD works.

Have I, a few years ago, bought the most expensive MEP without the possibility to burn DVD? Must I pay extra for burning "old-fashioned" DVD's, or what is the reason? I find no way to activate the function online.

Do anyone know why I have this problem ? I am thankful, if anyone have an explanation !

Hi Andreas

It sounds like you do not have the MPEG2 codec activated. You could try dragging some MPEG2 material to the timeline and see if a prompt comes up to download the free codec.

The other method is to click on the red record button and choose record HDV / DV where you should get a similar prompt.

Also, earlier builds of Win10 did not include the MPEG2 Codec either - but you still need to do the activation for MEP from within MEP.

Edit:- You could also check in Download Additional Content and see if it is showing there as available to download.

Thank you for trying to help me, Scenestealer. I have tried all your recommandations, but in vain. I can import and export MPG2, but not burn DVD.I have tried the red button. And I have also checked in Download Additional Content, tried to activate both MPG2 and MP4, but a message says "already installed or aborted" So I have to contact the Magix Service Center.

But this evening I have reinstalled an old MEP MX, and the DVD is already burned !!

Thanks again, Andreas
