Hi, went through burning process of project and when it came to burning onto DVD it said i had inserted a CD-R not DVD and asked if i wanted a mini-disk. The project included a menu screen and 1.5 hours footage from vhs. I definatly inserted DVD as i now have it in and in "my computer" and it shows as DVD RW. It says 702 mb total size, the film project is 1.5 hours (90 mins). Sure its something im doing wrong as i generally do.

I have Dell, windows 7 -64 bit, intel core i3  cpu, 4.00 gb ram

using Magix movie editor proMX

Thanks for responses in advance past and present.

See the sentence I have highlighted; if that is the correct "size" of the inserted disc it is most definitely NOT a DVD RW, sorry (a DVD RW will be something in excess of 4Gb).  In fact, 702Mb does, indeed imply a CDR/RW.

So, I think you need to check very carefully that the disc you intend to use is a DVD, not a CD, especially given the length (playing time) of the project you are trying to export.  Your 1.5 hours video will certainly fill a standard (4.7Gb) DVD.

Thanks, i think you must be right that is the size 702 mb, but it shows as dvd rw for some reason,otherwise i would have just tryed different disc.  will try different dvd. :)

Just to be sure: where are you reading the "DVD RW" information?  Are you reading it in "My Computer", where it is the description of your drive, NOT the description of the disc?

Just a thought.
