Burning AVI files to a DVD

If I burn an uncompressed AVI file to a DVD disc, will it play?

Yes, on a computer, if you burn the file as a data disk file and open it with WMP or VLC, etc., but you will not fit much on a standard DVD. It will not play on a standalone DVD player.

Hello, thanks for your answer. Why won’t it play on a DVD or Blu-ray player and how can I get it to?
