I do the following basic steps:

1) start Magic adn create new project

2) open GoPro files. Then I get warning saying that the movie resolution adn the file resolutions are different, do I want to adjust? I have answered both ways and still fail.

3) Click the Disc icon in upper right to start burning. Warning that there are no chapter markers, choose Auto

4) Hit the big disc icon on right to burn, choose DVD, and save

5) hit disc info, all looks right and close

6) Encoder, tried different settings: User/standard/ widescreen

everything fails. This appears to be teh biggest waste of moviemaking money I ever spent. Cant reach Sales have to pay for telephone support. This is NOT a user friendly product. Exploring how to get my money back

Hi

Not enough information to go on!

What version of MEP are you using and is it patched up to date?

What is your computer specification, Windows version and is it 32 or 64 bit.

. . . . Cannot get device/media specific information . . . . Cannot get device/media specific information . . . .

That would suggest the DVD drive or the disc(s) is/are the problem.  The software is unable to determine what is in the drive - most likley cause is using cheap discs.

. . . . 12/4/2014 12:19:38 PM.766:   Step 1 of 5, Encoding movie 1 ...
12/4/2014 12:21:24 PM.321:   Step 1 done
. . . .

The program has sucessfully encoded what is on the timeline.

The next error occurs in the next step - this is when the program starts to encode the menu - in which case which template did you select and did you make any changes to it ?

John

Hi,

To eliminate MEP's physical burn process as a cause, can you successfully play the DVD folder automatically created by MEP, located as specified in the Folder tab of Program Settings?

Or for better quality:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4019461/MEP-Folder-VOBs.jpg

I never burn from MEP, which I've found unreliable. When the message appears asking me to insert a disc, I click Cancel. Then I check that the DVD folder automatically rendered by MEP plays OK. I use VLC for that. Then I finally burn it with the versatile and reliable (and free) burner ImgBurn.
