BURNING MULTIPLE MOVIES TO DVD AND PLAYING INDIVIDUALLY

remarkrv wrote on 4/18/2011, 2:01 PM

I would like to burn several video files to a disc and after selecting and playing the video, return to the disk menu without automatically playing all the remaining videos.  It's easy to do with DVDStyler and It seems like it should be obvious in MEP17, but I haven't been able to do it.  Am I overlooking something?

remarkrv,

Can't call it overlooking if what you want is sort of hidden! :-) In edit mode of the burn window, right click on a movie in the preview pane and pick 'Properties'. There you will find a list of available actions at the end including looping, stopping, and jump back to the main menu.

Carl

You're very welcome Ron, glad to try and help. Your description sounds like you don't actually have five 'movies', but rather one with five 'chapters'.

You get multiple movies in one project by opening additional projects (MVP files) and choosing 'Add new project' at the prompt. Each movie is independent (you only see one at a time on the timelines) and is selected by name either from a little film reel type icon (near top left) or from the bottom of the main 'Window' menu drop down.

Chapters, characterised on the timeline by blue markers above all the tracks of one movie, can be set manually (for each of your video sections) or automatically which you might have done.

Dividing into mutiple movies is easy, sort of, but let's wait to see if that's what has to be done.

Regards,

Carl

10 years later, but, I don't have those options when I right click and select Properties. The online menu says if these options are not available to check which Menu Mode is set. How do I set the menu mode? Thank you!

@Spaceman230

Hi

. . . . 10 years later, but, I don't have those options when I right click and select Properties. . . . .

Assuming you have the different movies on separate timelines, see this tutorial - which still applies to MEP 2022 and earlier versions - within the project, the options are still there as shown below

Hi John,

I so appreciate your responsiveness. Thank you for helping me understand the term 'movie' and the need to have separate ones in the project. Happy New Year!
