Burning to Disc

jaydee44 wrote on 10/16/2013, 2:38 PM

Hello,

I have just started to use Magix 15 pro x 2, using Windows 7, in fact this is my first project.

I have created the movie I wish to save to disc so as to play back on both a DVD player as well as another computer.

When trying to finish the project and copy to disc, all I get is a pop up telling me that the burning media cannot be located, when I do mannage to get to the burning stage the pop up tells me that the burning process has been completed successfully. When the disc is inserted into another medium I get a pop up saying the disc does not have a play back capability.

I have followed the manual and onscreen instructions, also have tried using different makes of disc, have checked my burner (which is working correctly), I can neither copy to usb flash drive or transfere the files across by transfere wire. Basicaly I am stuck with the "master" on my tower system and am unable to show it anywhere else.

I have saved screen grabs of the problem which occurs each time I try to burn to disc.

Hi

There may be a incompatability issue with MEP 15 and Windows 7.

Try updating the Burn routines to the latest available here.

Hello johnebaker,

I folllowed your  advice and downloaded your suggestions!! the upshot of which my system became extremely unstable, followed by a system crash. On restarting the computer in safe mode, it just crashed again, after which I tried to fire the system up once again and was just allowed me to reach the windows log in page. Unfortunatly that is as far as I could go, I was unable to insert my system password at all. I have since finished my project, or! should I say recreated it, on my old laptop with a newly purchased Nero Platinum 14 with a time line of just one hr, the saving grace is that I did not deleat the project from my camera, so could download again.

The tower system in question is as we speak with a computer engineer who has been instructed, to once he gains access to the system to uninstall Magix completely. After looking on your web site and reading the problems with which people are having with Magix and burning projects to disc etc; I will stick with Nero, and just have to put the whole expierience down to just that!! expierience, so sadly I cannot say anything positive about your programme.

Please exscuse me for being so negative, but compared to the Nero programme Magix is by far too complicated and I am sure could be simplified considerably.

Hi

, . . . I cannot say anything positive about your programme. Please exscuse me for being so negative, but compared to the Nero programme Magix is by far too complicated and I am sure could be simplified considerably. . . .

This is a user forum not Magix support.  The software is for the more advanced user and therefore is more complicated.

. . . . On restarting the computer in safe mode, it just crashed again, after which I tried to fire the system up once again and was just allowed me to reach the windows log in page . . . .

That would indicate you have a hardware failure which would have nothing to do with updating the Burn routines or a Windows update has failed to install properly (this does happen on occassions )
