Can't find a file for a project folder

When I open older projects, Video Pro X claims it can't find a file for the project. When I use file explorer to check the folder, the file is there.. Pressing the button "Repeat" gives the same error.. If I press the button "Folder:" it opens up the folder it thinks the file is not in and then all I have to do is press "Open" and it finds the file. So the file is there, but it doesn't see it until this refresh.. Is this a bug!

Another annoying bug is the fact that when the dialogue File not found comes up and you use the mouse to press the "Skip" button, it will skip the file and bring up the File not found dialogue again, but this time it has moved the mouse pointer to the "Repeat" button.. Thus when you want to skip again you have to move the mouse button back to the skip button.. In instances where you want to skip over and over again, you constantly have to move the mouse button. That is annoying to say the least..

Hi,

I've noticed more or less the same thing, but it usually occurs because something changed, like using the MVP on my laptop and then going back to the desktop if the files are not all in the same place.

You say that it happens with older projects, meaning those done with a previous version of VPX?

The second go-round is for files that are listed in the Project Folder (not the Media Pool). I would have assumed that VPX would find them if they had already been identified in the first pass, but it doesn't. One thing that you can do in projects to reduce the problem is to Clean up the Project folder before saving to remove any unused files that may be there.

So, I just live with this as it doesn't happen often and save the project with a new revision code as soon as all files are loaded.

I consider this to be a minor annoyance, not a bug. The list of bugs that I have published and submitted to Magix is already more than they can handle, it seems.

Hi

. . . . like using the MVP on my laptop and then going back to the desktop if the files are not all in the same place . . . .

I had the same issue until I had one of those 'light came on' moments.

The folder structure for projects and resources are identical on both my PC and lap top within in a folder called Magix.

On the PC it is on a second hard drive - W: on my laptop it is in C:\Users\UserName\Documents.

The solution was to map a network drive on the laptop so that drive W: pointed to the Documents folder and set the folder paths in MEP and VPX to the same location as the PC, ie W:\Magix . . . . . etc, on the laptop as shown below

No more hunting for different file locations.
