Can't force a Cross Fade after an edit

Okay, I like the cross-fade between slides. But on many occasions if I do some editing around two slides in Story Board Mode, like just now I made two slides into a panorama, the cross fade is replaced by a SWITCH (dramatic change rather than cross fade). No matter how many times I hit the fade spot and select cross fade, it does not change. I have to manually go into Timeline mode and drag the second slide (or pan in this case) over the first slide forcing a cross fade. Oh, newest version of Magix with updates. But I should mention this issue has happened many times in prior versions of MEP. The cross fade just won't stick in Story Board mode. Is there something that I'm missing? In other words when creating a pan or even when only moving images to another position, this happens. Is there some hidden mode that locks the fade change out?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Storyboard mode is generally used as a quick method to create a video, using basic editing, however it does have limitations.

It is better to work in Timeline mode where you have much more creative control over the objects used in the movie.

I would suggest you look at some of the Movie Edit Pro tutorials such as this one by John CB, and the many available on Youtube - tutorials from version 15 and later all use the same principles.
