Hi, I'm trying out the Movie edt pro 2014 program. I'm getting message "unfortunately, the function 'mpeg-2' is not available due to licensing conditions", when I import an mpeg file. I always could import in older versions of Movie edit pro.
While you are running the trial version there are limitations on the type of video you can import and the length of video you can export because of licences which have to be paid for eg the mpg codec licence.
If you decide to purchase the full version, it is best to get the Premium version whcih includes all the standard codecs needed - they do have to be activated however - the Basic and Plus versions do require some codecs to be purchased seperately.
You could also try to convert your mpeg-2 file to something like .wmv, .avi, .mp4, or .mov you will likely have the codec to one of these already installed on your system. If you use .mov, make sure to get the latest version of quicktime.
