@fitzwizard Did you run the library installer? Just adding the library in the preferences isn't enough.

@SP. I should have made that clear sorry. I did run the installer. Looking through previous forum posts, it seems I have a similar issue to :https://www.magix.info/us/forum/independence-won-t-load-free-content--1251370/

After running the installer, I wasn't prompted to enter my serial code to activate the library and now it seems like there is no way to manually activate it which is bizarre.

I have run full uninstalls of both the library and software, but every time I reinstall it, it 'remembers' the previous library path (even if it is missing).

Do you really only get 1 chance to activate the library and after that it's just impossible?

I'm on a Mac for what it's worth. I have also run the installation on a separate MacBook just a couple of days ago, and I was prompted to activate the library and that installation works no problem.

That would be odd if the registration window would only appear once. Which Mac OS version do you have on your Mac and which one on your MacBook?

If the Mac has a much newer version of Mac OS than your MacBook, the registration programs could be incompatible. Independence 3.5 wasn't updated since 2017. I don't have a Mac to test it myself.

Looks like that config files get stored somewhere. Where exactly, I don't know. But you should be able to remove the library path in the preferences of Independence. Maybe that's necessary to force the registration screen to reappear.
