Can't Open this MP4

Here's the MP4, which I encoded with Virtual Dub's x264 encoder:

When I open it in MEP 2021 and VPX 12, I get black video.

When I try to open it in MEP 2022, it crashes.

It looks like a "standard" MP4 to me.

Any ideas?

I get the audio just fine but the video is black too, I got installed the latest K-Lite Codec Pack in my computer, try to render the video with other encoder.

Agreed, Video does not play in any NLE, it does however play in VLC, I converted the video using handbrake and the video can now be played

Just run it through good old Avidemux in full copy mode, it then works perfectly in MEP 2022

Look at the Bitrates. Can't understand the very slight difference but it certainly wasn't re-encoded just re-wrapped.

When ever I get a video that won’t play nice with MEP or VPX, I simply run it through a Video Converter (in my case, VideoProc 4.6 - same parameters).

I did the same with "SummerA muksun 768 576.mp4" and then I was able to import it into MEP Premium 2022. It came in with Video and audio.

Thanks all, there's obviously a problem with the x264 encoder in VDub. I'll explore further.

I use virtualdub on rare occasions and on those rare occasions lately I've used Virtualdub 2. I don't know if your're aware of it so here's a link http://www.virtualdub2.com/. It seems to like the "more modern" way of doing things..

Thanks Andy, I've since worked out that the issue was caused by x264vfw encoder. When I used the VDub 2 internal x264 encoder, all is well.

Just for stamps, I tried the 10bit MP4 from V Dub in MEP; no go. Tried it in VPX 12, "yes, we can do that, you need to activate the AVCIntra codec".

Cost of activation: 59.99 Euros!! Thanks but no thanks. 😂

@AAProds Hi, just for the record i get the same not loading as above in MEP 2022 & that file freezes/crashes Vegas Pro 19,

Audio only in Hitfilm Pro

@AAProds PS, weird how MEP i get nothing, no sound or video, just a white event on the timeline,

Vegas crashes despite trying all different settings, Hitfilm & VE open audio only, i tried opening it with Boris's Mocha Pro & Silhouette, they're image only programs but opened that file no prob,

It's some kind of prob with the combination of audio & video 🤷‍♂️

BTW the free DaVinci Resolve opens no prob audio & video 👍😂

Use Shutter Encoder to rewrap it to another MP4.
