Can't see external USB burners.

Hi, I'm using MAGIC Edit Pro 2013 Plus. OS Windows 8. Today when I go to use the editor It doesn't see my external USB burners DVD and Blu-Ray. As the other programs I'm using can see them I wonder if there is a way to force the issue with Magic. Magic can see and access my usb HDDs. I have version 12.0.3.4 installed and Magix tells me this is the most up to date.

Hi,

Windows 8 is probably the worst version of windows that Microsoft has ever released.  You need to make sure that all of your drivers, apps, etc.  are windows 8 compatible.  If you have a tablet, Windows 8 is probably great, if you have a desktop or a laptop, I would bet that the OS sucks.

I have gone through all of the driver updates I can think off that applies, including auto updates ( with the OS ). All report I have the most up to date. I have tried removong all other USB connections, no improvement. The program (Magix)  did work then stopped. My thoughts are an update to Speed3 occurred as this it the app that addresses the burners but I can't see it readily.  This is the Speed3 burner log:

In the Magix inslall.cfg  it calls up Speed3:

BurnerPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Speed3_burnR_mxcdr_MSI\Speed.exe
BurnerRegKey=Speed3_burnR_mxcdr_MSI
Skin=1

If all else fails could I direct the Burner path to a different BurnerRegKey   ?

HELP PLEASE !!!
