Hi,

yes you can split:

import the clip in time-line track 1,

activate it by clicking left mouse,

split it by clicking sign "broken chain" above of tracks.

Put away the video from track 1 after activating by clicking (on the file)

right mouse and selecting "delate object".

I'm not sure if you`re able to insert a powerpoint slide. Do you mean

a slide *.jpeg or so? In this case yes. Put it on track 1, define the lenghts

you need.

If this slide is in ppt-format (?), it would be necesarry to transform.

There ar some questions here concerning this problem.

For my opinion is there no satisfying answer.

Good luck for trying

"versuche es mal mit avidemux - kostenlos im netz"

try it by using AVIDEMUX - without payment download

Yes, when you load the video file, it also loads the audio..., you need to ungroup them, then you can select just the video part, and press delete to remove it. now you are just left with the audio. You can then export the audio as .wav or .mp3.

To export, go to the drop down menu 'File' > 'Export movie' > 'Audio as...' and then save it to a location you can easily find.
