@Kat-Rhein Hi, copy & paste the Serial number from your email into the box without the P at the beginning. The letter P is already included in the activation window.

To add to @Gid comment.

. . . . computer id . . . .

Assuming you mean the Windows generated Device ID as seen in the Windows sttings, System, About dialog, is not the Computer ID used for Magix software registrations.

You would only be asked for this if you are trying to activate offline and is an ID number generated by the software when going through the 'offline' activation process if avaialble.

OK so where do I find the "computer ID" the the activation field is asking for??

emmrecs wrote on 5/30/2025, 10:49 AM

@Kat-Rhein

As @johnebaker explained, the Computer ID is required only if you are trying to activate your software "off-line", i.e., you are attempting this whilst the computer with this software is NOT connected to the internet. This ID cannot be "found", it is generated automatically by the software itself as you try to activate it. The fact that you cannot find it strongly suggests you are connected to the Internet (and the Magix servers) as you attempt the activation. Do you see any error messages on-screen? Please quote the wording in full or, perhaps better still, take a screenshot of the message and post it to your next reply.

However, can we take a slight step backwards? Exactly which Magix software product are you trying to activate? Please give the full name, version and edition. e.g., Magix Movie Studio 2025 Suite.

@Kat-Rhein

Hi

. . . . . I have put in my software number . . . .

Does this begin with P3- followed by 6 blocks, separated by hyphens, of 5 numbers?

If so you enter this as @Gid commented above

If not, and you have a series of letters/numbers separated by hyphens then you have a software Voucher code which you redeem here. to get a serial number beginning with P3- by email. Check your email spam folder as the emails sometimes end up there.

. . . . where do I find the "computer ID" the the activation field is asking for . . . .

Is this the in program activation dialog shown in @Gid comment, or this one in your account on the Magix website?

If the above, and your computer is connected to the Internet, then there should be no need to activate by this route. If not connected to the Internet then @emmrecs has given you the solution of how to get the Computer ID.

Thank you - I checked the answer that was the solution for me. Here is where I had a problem. I was going to My Profile and thru the steps. The Activation step asks for a "computer id". I had my serial number from the email. However when the software installed on my desktop there is a shortcut - it doesn't ask for a computer id, only the serial number and then it started automatically. So for beginnings who are trying to activate I suggest they try the desktop shortcut FIRST. Because the instructions in the My Profile were at least to me, confusing. Thank you all for the assistance.
