@jan-wood

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

The import of "sound files" is still entirely possible, depending upon the format of those files.

So, what is the format of a file that fails to import for you?

Thanks! It's Mp3. I've used magix music maker for many years to mix mp3s. Now it seems to want me to purchase an add-on of some sort, but nothing is available in the store....

@jan-wood

Exactly which version and variant of MM do you have? I've just tested this in MM Premium version 29.0.3.21 and mp3s open without problem.

From what you write I suspect you either have the Free, or possibly the Plus variant of MM; the Free one doesn't allow the import of mp3s, I'm not sure about the Plus variant. If you have previously had/used the Premium version and have recently updated to the latest, 29..x.x.xx, did you also download and install all additional content, as well as possibly entering the serial numbers for any earlier version, to ensure you gain access to all the features you had previously?

The add-on, which you will need to purchase if you do not have the Premium variant is available via the "Store" tab and is called "More Tracks and Formats".

Thank you for the info. I do have the free version. I've bought other versions in the past. Unfortunatly I couldn't find a way to purchase in the store tab after searching for "more tracks and formats."

It seems being able to download tracks was always a basic feature until recently...

Most of the features, I don't need. All I need to do is mix existing mp3 tracks and maybe use some reverb. I make meditation mp3s so I don't need 90% of what the software does. Sadly, there's nothing out there for that...

@jan-wood

If you have any Plus or Premium versions that are fairly recent, did you try activating their serial numbers in the new version? If not, do so. Then download and install everything that is under Downloads.

Ok. Thank you! I'm hesitant because I've noticed that it will not allow me to import its own mmm files either. I wonder if that's normal. There's a place where I can import from a physical CD though, but I don't use those anymore.

I think im going uninstall and re install before I buy the add on.

Thank you so much for the help!
