Cannot save some titles as template

terrypin wrote on 1/2/2014, 3:41 PM

Some of my title objects will not display the Save dialog when I use Right click > Save as title template.

Other identical ones (i.e. using same styles) do work OK.

After an hour or so (including re-starting MEP 2014), this still has me stumped. I see no apparent distinction. Anyone else ever see similar problem or have any suggestions please?

Edit (few minutes after posting above): I think I've found the cause but would appreciate confirmation please. If so I regard it as a bug. The problem titles either contain a colon ('Venice Beach: Popular section') or occupy two lines.

MEP 2013 does not have the problem.

When I try your two examples I get a message saying the the name is invaid. If I change the name to something simple I can save the title

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for checking.

I wasn't trying to give the template a name containing a colon or two lines. I was referring to the the title text itself. (Which BTW is probably the default name MEP offers when the Save dlaog does appear.)

But there seems to be more going on here than I thought. This morning I re-opened the project in MEP 2014 13.0.2.8 (UDC2) and once again failed to get my first example (the colon) to respond to Right click > Save as title template. But in my earlier post I'd shortened the actual text a bit, thinking it irrelevant. In full it is actually 'Venice Beach: popular section a bit tacky'. That fails to get the browser dialog (and there's no message). However 'Venice Beach: popular section' does work OK!

The second example consistently fails. Titles containing text like

'title
on 2 lines'

never get the Save browser dialog.

In MEP 2013, neither issue arises.
