Cannot start VPX17 by double-clicking on MVP file

The file extension, .mvp, is registered to VPX17 in Windows. If I go to a project file, .mvp, using Windows Explorer and double-click on it, it should open in VPX17; it should load VPX17 and the project. For me, the cursor turns for a few seconds, then nothing; VPX17 doesn't open. This worked previously in Windows 10 with VPX16.

If I change the linked app for .mvp to Movie Studio 2024, double-clicking on the same or any other file opens it in MS2024.

I noticed this because I have created a database of projects and multimedia. The mvp file is stored as a hyperlink in the table. I have a button that simply opens the hyperlink, that is, opens the mvp file using whatever App the extension is linked to in Windows. This had always worked until VPX17 and/or W11. No longer.

Strangely, if I open another instance of Windows Explorer, which opens to the Recent screen, and an mvp or mvd file is listed, double-clicking on it opens it in VPX17. However, if I then navigate or go to the actual file location and double-click on it, nothing happens.

Another strange thing, in Windows Settings, for the extension .mvp, change the App, Movie Studio 2025 Suite doesn't show up on the suggested list. If I navigate to the Program location in Settings and select the exe file, videodeluxe.exe, it doesn't register. That is, the App linked to mvp doesn't change.

Could those of you who have VPX17 on W11 try double-clicking on an mvp file in Windows Explorer to see if VPX17 opens and with the mvp project?

Thanks,
