Cant find a template for AVCHD Transport stream 1080 25P & AC3

Hi

I am editing Sony XAVC-S 4K video files and want to export to Transport stream ie .mts at 1080 25P with AC-3, via the Intel encoder in MEP19. Problem is there is no progressive export template for this in the Intel presets.

If I select the AVCHD TS preset for 50P @ 28mbps and change the frame rate to 25, it automatically changes to Interlace 1080i with no option to change it back to P. I imagine this is something to do with the fact that the Bluray standard is only 1080i or 24p - strange behaviour for MEP never the less.

If I go to the Burn screen and choose AVCHD the default preset that pops up does do what I want by "encoding to file" which of course creates a Bluray folder structure with the 1080 25p .MTS inside. To avoid the extra steps I thought I would find the preset (.prs file) in C;\........Program Data>Magix>.........>Presets and just copy that preset to the appropriate folder, but have not succeed in identifying it or the folder I should put it in to access it from the File Menu > Export file > MPEG4.

Anyone any ideas?

Peter

Hi Peter

. . . . select the AVCHD TS preset for 50P @ 28mbps and change the frame rate to 25, it automatically changes to Interlace 1080i with no option to change it back to P. . . . . I think this needs raising with Magix, I too was looking to do something similar early last year, although a different issue with an export preset, and found no solution.

I received a response from Magix support saying that 25p is not part of the AVCHD standard to which I replied:-

I appreciate that AVCHD 1080 25P  is not an AVCHD disc standard but it is a valid recording and playback format and it would be good to have included as a Transport Stream with AC-3 Surround sound in the Intel and Main Concept MPEG4 export presets. I seldom burn discs these days and play most of my exports from a memory stick or over a network to a TV.

I have not heard anymore from them on this.
