@Brynjar-Gudmundsson

Hi

The error message would suggest that Corel Video Studio has not removed the file association from the mp4 files and I guess you are double clicking the file in Movie Edit Pro (MEP).

The mp4 file association requires resetting to Films and TV or Windows Media Player

Assuming you are using Windows 10

  1. Click the Windows button
  2. click the cog (gear wheel) to open Settings.
  3. select Apps, Default apps, Choose default applications by file type
  4. Locate the .mp4 file extension and click it
  5. from the list that appears select Films & TV or Windows Media Player
  6. Close the settings window.

Now when you double click the video file in MEP it should play in the program.

Note if you want the double click to add the video file to the timeline you change this in the Program settings, System tab

HTH
