Catooh purchased fades/design elements

granta wrote on 1/19/2017, 11:03 AM

Hi,  anyone have any idea how to import items that I have previously purchased on Catooh while using MEP 2016 Plus into the newer version of Movie Edit Pro Premium that I just purchased?  I have a work-in-progress video that I started in MEP 2016 Plus, and now I would like to complete the project in MEP Premium, but transition fades that I previously purchased are not available to me.

Thanks!

Hi,

Transitions should be located under the main folder:

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2016 Premium\Plugins

Search for them in the subfolders. Any new ones that you make would go under the subfolder:

TransitionPresets

I don't know exactly where purchased ones would go.

Find and copy the ones you purchased to the same subfolder under the main folder:

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2017\Plugins

While you are at it, you may want to do a check of all files like this from 2016 to see if they are also in 2017. Sometimes Magix drops some.

One more thing, make a backup of anything that you add to these folders and note where they are supposed to go. Apparently, applying a patch could wipe out the folder and replace with just the stock files. Your additional files would be gone.

Let us know what you find.

Good hunting!

Thanks, browj2!  I also had sent a message to Catooh describing my issue, and they responded very quickly.  They re-enabled the download function on all of my purchased items, so I was able to download them into the newer MEP version.  Everything is good, now!  Thanks, Catooh!!!

Hi

Don't forget to keep copies of the downloaded MTP files for future use in later versions of MEP or for re-installing if necessary - I keep at least 2 copies on CD's.

Hi,

Out of curiosity, which transitions did you buy, and into which folder(s) did they go?

Since I have quite a few versions, I think that I have most of them already as they came with the program. The problem is that Magix drops some and if one does not notice and make a copy and then uninstalls the old program (or installs only the latest version to a new computer) the dropped ones get lost. I have started making backups of the pertinent Data folders. I had started an Excel list of the various transitions, titles, effects, etc., a couple of years ago and then abandoned it. Maybe I should update it.

I had purchased 3D Tile Fades:  4 Tiles, Diagonal Tiles, Frame, Rotate Surfaces, Rotate Tiles and Wall.  I also bought 3D Morph Fades:  Cuboid to Ring, Flying Carpet, Funnel, Piping, Pyramids, Ring, Rotate Balls, and Tree.

They are all back where they belong now.  Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Thanks for that. I have some and some look familiar and may have come with some of the previous versions that I had on my computer. I should have kept better track.

Glad to see that you have them back.
