Change a clips fps

So, I make gaming videos. For the most part up until now, I've never had an issue with this.

Recently, I had a problem where the audio didn't match up with the video. I figured out that it's the frame rate. The video was recorded at 40fps and Magix plays it at 29fps. Now, I do know that when I export the file, I can change this - here's where my problem arises - The video I'm doing now has 2 separate clips. One is at 60fps and the other 40fps.

How do I make that correct modifications so it plays correctly?

I am running Magix Movie Edit Pro 17

Ok so - Looked a little harder and I found my own answer. I downloaded an Open Source Video Transcoder. It let me convert my video to 30fps which is, I believe, the default for Magix. Worked perfect. The program I used was Handbrake if anyone runs into this and needs help.... lol

But then just for kicks, I have one more question? Why do video games (or is it Shadowplay) run/or record at such a high frame rate? The quality seemed to just as good at 30fps but then again, I am fairly new at this part of editing (creating gaming videos) so forgive me if it's a silly question.
