Change photo length

How can I change an object's lenght? Using the Right-click brings up the menu with "Change Photo Length". But what represent the most right 2 digits "xx:xx:XX sec"? WhenI set it e.g. to "00:01:00 sec" and set the focus on the 2 right digits 00:01:00 and then tap the cursor down button, it rolls over to "00:00:24 sec ". What kind of presentation is that?

Bottum line: how can I set a duration to 0.5 seconds?

Thanks a lot for any help. John

Hi John,

The right most 2 digits are frames, not fractions of a second. The max is the number of frames per second that you indicate for your video upon startup. Thus 24 is the max for 24fps, 29 for 29.97fps. This is because you are creating a video that will be produced in frames, fractions a of second do not work, only frames count.

Thus if your setup is 24fps and you want a 0.5s duration, the right 2 digits should be 12.

It is not well-documented in the manual, so far as I can tell, but there is a very good display of this on page 81 of the MEP2014 manual, with hours:minutes:seconds:frames

To answer your other question, KF = keyframe(s)

John,

Despite the label it's min : sec : frames. The rollover would be expected if your project is set for 25 fps. To get half a second use 00:00:12.

Carl

Thanks guys. Yes, the documentation is a bit poor. But also the presentation "00:00:00 sec" is very misleading, but makes sense afteral if you know what it is.
