When attempting to activate MAGIX VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Suite “offline,” the form for Activation requested “Computer ID.” There was an asterix, but I couldn’t find anything referencing that asterix to help explain. I wouldn’t have needed to post anything if I could have, perhaps.
So, when I attempted to input what I guessed was the computer’s ID I would be using (a Dell XPS 8500 Product Key), it failed. I tried again, using the Dell Service Tag. That also failed.
The answers I read at the (wrong) forum don’t seem to be correct, to me. Of course, I do not know, being a relative ignoramus when it comes to such things. But please humor me and give some more complete answer(s), down to my level. I really, really want to be using my program, please.
To note: I have two Dell XPS desktops I use exclusively for my photo and video editing. OS is Win7. They DO NOT connect to the Internet. I once lost everything when previously I had been working while online. That was a nightmare to restore what I could. I will never risk that again. I use this laptop, running Linux Ubuntu, for everything online. So I “inconvenience” myself running back and forth between my workhorses and this computer for anything that must be finalized online. It’s worth it, to me.
So I would really appreciate your kind consideration and help in this. Exactly what is the “Computer ID” the Activation form is requesting? And I am really sorry for any inconvenience to you. Please forgive me. Thank you. CatMom
