Control duration of assets that have intro anim + outro anim

Hi, out there are many assets (like lower thirds) available as a video file, to be imported into your project.

I was wondering the best practices to control its duration.

Example, a video has: 2s animation intro + 6 seconds still lower third + 2s animation outro

So, if you want to keep the lower third for 30s... I actually cut the video.... Because using "Play speed" has a limit

But what is your best advice?

Thanks!

Hi

. . . . if you want to keep the lower third for 30s... I actually cut the video.... Because using "Play speed" has a limit . . . .

Play speed is limited if objects are grouped and/or an audio track attached to it - 0.25 - 4x , ungroup the caption objects or remove the audio object and the range of the Speed function is increase dramatically to 0.01 - 99.99x, however you do have to type the values in and set the Interpolate intermediate images for any speed < 1.00.

A better way is to position the playback marker at the position where the caption is static then right click and select Insert still image at playback marker... then adjust the length of the images to give the desired duration.
