Is there a way to remove the background from a regular video, thus turning it into a green screen shot? I've seen that there are other applications that can do that, but can it be done in Magix? Thanks!

What is the programs full name and version as found under Help, About?
What sort of background are you trying to remove eg is is solid coloured background, scenery, etc?
A still image of the type of background you are ttrying to remove would help.

Hi,
if you background is a uniform color in Magix you can remove easily black, white, green and bleu if you use the drop eye to pick a color from the background you can remove near any color. Also you can reduce the area or surface to become transparent. All software in price category work about same only very specialised software can remove more than one color.

This is done by creating a dynamic mask, and a lot of work. You can use Magix Xara Photo and Graphics Designer or Xara Designer Pro X which brings in the video from MEP into the animator. Here is tutorial in French showing how to do it.

This site is a forum; nothing is for sale. You would have to have bought on Magix.com, and the current version is 2017 even though no date is given.
Also, to do any serious editing, you need at least the Plus version. The basic version is quite limited.
MEP 2017 plus has a Mask Generator included which may do the trick IIRC. MEP2014 does not have this.

I don't think Magix.com would sell a 4 version old program to anybody...
