Converting MPEG-4 to MPEG-2

Hello,

I have an MPEG-4 encoded video file that I burned to a standard DVD disc for someone I know. The issue is that he only has a DVD player which doesn’t support MPEG-4. So I am, of course, going to have to convert the video to MPEG-2 so that it will play on his player. Is there any way I can do this without losing too much quality?

For a video disc to play on a DVD player you must burn a DVD disc. Burning the video file only, by adding the file to a disc using a program such as Nero, ImageBurn or Windows File Explorer creates a data disc which cannot be read by many DVD players.

Load the video file into MEP and use the Burn disc feature to create a compatible DVD player disc - do note the video will end up as 720 x 576 (PAL) or 720 x 480 (NTSC). to be compatible with the DVD specifcation.
