What is the explanation of this pop up in layman's terms ? I have been always copying, when would you import ? Don't you always want to save and export your movie when complete ?
Normally you import file to the timeline and use it that means the file stay on your hard drive in the directory. If you work on 2 or more computers you need the same and all file on both or all computer Magix create a directory containing all file used in the project this is the COPY function. Every files can be transfered to many computers.
This has already been answered in your former thread - please do not raise a new topic about the same issue as this leads to fragmented responses.
As I said previously:-
This is a standard warning that is asking if you would like to copy the file to the Project Folder. It appears even if you have copied the file previously to any hard drive internal or external and are now trying to import it to MEP. It is asking if you wish to create another copy of the file to the default MEP Project Folder if you have previously copied it from your camera to a different folder path. It is designed to keep everything together in a place where it will be included in a Project folder backup if you wish to create one down the track.
Don't you always want to save and export your movie when complete ?
The message is talking about the importance of putting everything in one folder if you want to Archive the Project. It is not necessary to copy the file again just for the purpose of editing and exporting unless you move the file to a different folder after you have imported it to the timeline. If you do move it or disconnect the drive it is on, next time you open the project it will prompt you to enter a new path to the file.
