Correcting audio visual sync lag

Janell-Jordan wrote on 3/15/2021, 3:45 PM

I am trying to correct a lag in audio. Can someone help me understand why I cannot separate the two in less than 1:00 minute segments? I need to make a 0:04 adjustment on a video but my Magix software kicks me to 0:00 for any adjustments up to 0:12 and it kicks me up to 1:00 for adjustments above 0:12.

I cannot find how to contact Magix directly.

Can any of you kindly help me? I have Movie Edit Pro Premium 2019 and I'm using an HP lalptop

Thank you so much

You can adjust audio offset to the frame, if need be.

If your audio is way out, ungroup your video and audio objects then drag the audio into roughly the correct position. The more you zoom in, the less the amount of offset you are making when you drag the audio object. For example, if you zoom in so you see only the frames, any dragging will be one frame at a time.

When the audio is close, right-click on the audio object and choose "Set audio-video offset". You can then adjust the audio object with frame accuracy. Note, this label is misleading: the offset you are controlling is the audio offset. The video object is staying in the same place.

After you've got the video and audio aligned, regroup them.

Let us know how that goes.

Check your sampling rate on you audio import to your audio preference's in your program.

You might find a correction there or you might have to resample your audio file.

I am not sure what units you are referring to but I assume you realise that MEP can only adjust audio sync to 1 whole frame so that moving it more than 1/2 frame will make it snap to one or other end of a frame.

VPX on the other hand can be moved (audio) sample accurate ie less than 1 frame of video.
