Crashing since latest update

dond10 wrote on 3/11/2017, 10:44 AM

Since having the latest update to 16.0.3.34 my programme is just crashing every 5 minutes, at least that's how it seems at the moment.

I've started 3 or 4 different projects with the same result and never had this sort of problem as bad.

my system spec is windows 10 64bit - i5-2450m 2.50ghz - 6gb ram using the onboard Intel HD graphics 3000. I have a SSD hard disc with 78gb free saving my project to a 1tb WD my passport external hard disc.

Any body else having this crashing problem?

Hi

. . . . Since having the latest update to 16.0.3.34 . . . .

Do you mean 16.0.3.34 or is this a typo - the latest update is 16.0.3.64

. . . . saving my project to a 1tb WD my passport external hard disc . . . .

I am assuming this is a laptop - using an external drive could be the cause of the crashing - if Windows is powering down the USB port(s), MEP may crash because the external drive does not wake up quick enough.

You can prevent powering down USB ports in the Windows, Power Management dialog - this does mean that if you are running on batteries only then you may experience shorter battery run times, if you run on the charger/powerpack then there is no problem.

Also if you are editing HD video the laptop may be overheating - it is below the minimum spec required for HD video editing and the processor will be running flat out when exporting or rendering the movie.

Hi John

Thanks for your response. yes it was a typo it should read .64

I'll try putting the project onto my laptop and see if that helps. But this crashing did not happen when on previous version.

John

I put in a ticket to tech support and they asked me to try downloading the latest .65 patch.

I have updated my install and with the small amount of testing I've done all seems stable now. I'll keep this post updated if I start getting any more crashes.
