Creating Waveform takes a long time. VPX11

madAhorn wrote on 5/11/2020, 1:42 PM

Creating a waveform on a 30 minute audio file takes several minutes.

I wish this could be faster. I usually have 4 audio files that I have to wait too long to create waveform so I can synch them up.

@madAhorn

Hello again!!

I don't think I've ever waited that length of time for VPX 11 to create the waveform on a 30 minute file (and I quite often am dealing with files considerably longer than that).

What audio format are these files? Is VPX having to carry out some sort of conversion of them in order to be able to use them? Those I use are, almost without exception, 48kHz 16 bit .wav files.

Thanks! 48 24 usually, but thankfully I just discovered the auto align function that will help as well.

You know, when I think about it, most of the time the waveforms are automatically there without me having to create them. Maybe it was something of a conversion thing going on. I will keep an eye open when I do this weeks church videos and I will double check each camera's audio format again.

Thank you!

24 bit should NOT be a problem, but I wonder whether some bit depth conversion is going on when you use them in VPX?
