Cursor locking to whole seconds

Hello,

I am having problems with Magix Movie Edit Pro version 16.0.3.66 (UDP3).

The cursor is locking onto whole seconds and not allowing me to choose anything in between. Also, there are black bars in audio files that I upload.

The problem began after spending time exporting the video into different formats to see which format works best for me. I have already contacted Magix support but I have not yet been able to resolve the issue. I was told to reset the program settings and to restart my computer as well, however, this only worked temporarily. Now, even after restarting, the program won’t work correctly.

I recently updated my graphics card but nevertheless my labtop is 7 years old and Im not sure if it’s a program error or a computer performance issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi

I presume you are aware that cursor will jump to larger units if the timeline is not zoomed in enough to see the frames grid. What happens if you use the left / right keyboard arrows?

What do you mean by black bars in the audio? Do you mean in the audio waveform display in the timeline / arranger? Do these sections produce audio during preview or are they mute?

You say you updated your graphics card - this is very unusual with a laptop. Do you mean graphics driver and was it from the Laptop manufacturer's website?

Hello Scenestealer,

Thanks for the response, I zoomed in as much as possible and the problem still persists, even with the left/right keyboard arrows.

Yes, I updated the graphics driver from the manufacturer's website.

The black bars appear in the audio waveform display in the timeline arranger and they do produce audio.

Attached is a screen shot:

Hi

Try the following:

Change the Video Mode in the Program settings, Display options. as shown in the image below.

Close MEP

Using Windows Explorer locate the .H0 and/or .HDP files with the same name as the WAV file(s) and delete them - these will be recreated by MEP.

Start MEP and reload the project.

Note - you may have to try different modes and delete the .H0 and/or .HDP files before restarting MEP.

HTH
