custom installation screen not visible

Steve-Poulin wrote on 7/21/2021, 12:52 PM

I have Movie Studio 18 Platinum. My first installation all went to my C drive (a small boot drive). I need it on my D drive. (windows 10). I have deleted and am trying to reinstall. I never see the custom installation screen which would allow me to specify the D drive.

Any ideas? Please?

Thanks, Steve

Hi

. . . .  I never see the custom installation screen . . . .

From memory the option is on the first or second page of the install dialog.

It does not say 'custom install', IIRC the option says Change, you will also be given the option to not install an additional program - Simplitec - a utility program included with Movie Studio 18 that is not necessary for Movie Studio to run.

Pleased to hear your are now sorted..

How much free space do you have on this drive? When video editing, the Windows Pagefile (Virtual memory) may grow to several GB. The ideal free space on the drive should be about 20% of the drive size and the size management of the Pagefile size should left to Windows as it will dynamically adjust what is need.

Thank you very much!!! I am closer to 10%. I will get to some housekeeping. This could explain some of the "hitchiness" I have run into. Great tip!
