Detach Audio from Video, to use separately

I want to detach the audio track from the video in a clip, so that I can use the audio track separately elsewhere in my movie.

I can't find any way to do this other than to "Alt + Right click" on the video segment after putting the video and audio on separate tracks, and then reducing the video length to zero.

I'm sure there must be a neater way to achieve what I want to do, but I can't find it.

If you use the broken chain icon when the video clip is highlighted then they should separate.
