'Display volume control' does not stay set

In MEP 2016 Premium I use my mic with 'Display volume control' enabled. But as soon as I start recording the checkmark disappears, and has to be repeatedly manually checked again.

Note: I disable 'Play while recording'.

Hi Terry,

Same thing in VPX. The meter works during recording, but I can't check the level with recording off. If I don't check the box and start recording, the meter works.

Thanks for the confirmation John. Considering also the recent thread I saw here about the 'Play while recording' option, this seems a poorly tested feature of current MEP/VPX versions.

I agree it does reset, however whether the Display volume control should stay selected is, IMHO, a matter of preference.

IMO the control is superfluous and the level meters should be on permanently before and during recording.

Also the control, IMO, is badly named, should be 'Test recording levels' or something similar because it activates the recording level meter so you can see and test the recording levels before starting recording.
