Does anybody know how to make you marker line in movie edit pro move across?

Just recently when I compose a movie my marker line does not move across as I play the footage. I don't know why it stopped, or how to get it back. The footage plays, but I can't determine a specific point and it makes it very hard to position my sound and other effects in the specific place I desire.

Hi,

You haven't told us what version of MEP you're using.

After restarting MEP and loading a new project, does the marker still not move while playing?

Try resetting program settings to defaults.

Thank you for replying. I am using MEP 13,14, and 15 and it has affected all 3. I tried to reset the default settings, but that did not work. The only thing that comes to mind is when I opted to do a recent upgrade. I think that may have been when this problem occurred.

Just to be sure, do you really mean those versions, which are quite old, not 2013, 2014 and 2015?

I'm sorry for not being more specific.. I am using Movie Edit Pro 2015 Plus.

Hopefully a user with the latest version of MEP 2015 will be able to help. (I use MEP 2014.)

Try

1. Replacing the current version of videodeluxe.ini by a backup copy saved from a point prior to your upgrade, assuming you have one.

2. Or use System Restore, to an appropriate date.

3. Or re--install MEP 2015.

I have had trouble with the timeline - counter and scroll line in MEP Plus 2015. I believe I may have finally fixed it by downloading the optional MPEG-2 codec from Main Concept and replaced it for the default one. this is offered from the Help: Install Extra Progams link. the 2 is free.

I have and still use MEP14, MEP 15 and MEP17 on a variety of different computers but had never seen this problem before starting to use MEP Pluas 2015. However in the past I have also always installed the MPEG extras which may have prevent it being an issue. Worth a try.

I have the same problem with 2015 Plus. Timeline marker stops and counter stops but movie plays.  Are you working with a 32bit or 64bit version?
