Unfortunately, I first need to clarify the issue with my licence with the MAGIX technical support department. The last licence I purchased was [MEP 2021 - 20.0.1.80]. According to the rules, I was able to update the product within a year, and so I obtained MEP 2022 [21.0.2.138]. This was the last version I legally owned. I was (and still am) able to use the licence on two computers. Since my old laptop was too overloaded, I bought a new one and downloaded the installation programme from my user account at magix.com. MEP 2021 - 20.0.1.80 was installed. Unfortunately, I am now unable to update and cannot revert to the last version I had, MEP 2022 [21.0.2.138].
What can I do to get the latest version of the programme on my new laptop? Any tips, suggestion?
It is not so easy. As I wrote I can download MEP2021 version from my account on MagixServiceCenter. But please note - in a meantime (12months) I've upgraded this version to MEP2022 for free. So my latest version is (was?) MEP2022. Today I can not install this (MEP2022) version.

The key words in your reply are the ones I have highlighted. Having upgraded for "free" from MEP 2021 to MEP 2022, any later download of the originally-purchased installer will be of the 2021 version and you will no longer have the option to add the 2022 version.
For clarity, "updates" to any existing program release are always free, "upgrades" are always paid for. It would seem your purchase of MEP 2021 must have been only a comparatively short time before the release of MEP 2022; hence your "free" upgrade.
. . . . What can I do to have MEP2022 on my new laptop? . . . .
The only option would be to look on the Internet for a boxed version someone has for sale. This does come with the risk of being scammed.
The best option, IMHO, is to upgrade to Video Deluxe 2026, you can get this for the Upgrade price, select the option shown below
However, so we can advise better before purchasing, what is the specification of your new laptop?. Your Signature looks like it is referring to the old laptop.
Video Deluxe 2026 should run fine on the laptop with the caveat that if you are working with 4K UHD 3840 x x2160 HEVC encoded video and add for example a collage or picture in picture effect, you may experience some jerkiness on preview playback. 4K UHD HEVC is very processor/GPU intensive.
