I have not been able to render anything longer than 15 seconds with Vegas Pro 18. I have been using Vegas since version 3 over 20 years ago. I am getting ready to switch to Adobe Premiere Pro because version 18 is incapable of rendering a video. I paid for the upgrade to 18 and have basically been without the ability to edit for over a year. I opened multiple tickets and tech support responded about a month after the first ticket. Told me it was resolved twice in subsequent contact and they basically dropped the issue without resolution about 3 weeks prior to 19 coming out. I have 2 high end PCs and 2 high end laptops and I have the same problem with rendering locking up after rendering about 20 seconds on all 4 boxes. Doesn't matter what codec I try to use. Doesn't matter what format or resolution. I just want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience and if 19 fixed it.
