I'm using MEP 17, I've got a movie with a bunch of different sports clips on it. On the timeline when i view it in the edit mode everything looks great. However, when i burn everything to a DVD some of the highlight clips cut out too soon.
I'm not sure why this is happening or how to stop it. It seems like it just doesn't burn it, because the music that is playing over everything doesn't skip or anything like that.
Any idea how to fix or correct this?
I am not sure what would cause that.
As a test, can you export the project out as a movie (MPEG-2) and see if that has the same results? If this is a standard 4:3 definition and you want it to go to disc, then the size needs to be at least 720x480 (full screen) for the MPEG-2 export.
If this is HD 16:9, then you need at least the export size to be 1280x720 (full screen) and I recommend the MPEG-4 for that.
If the export works fine, then what I suggest is adding that exported file into a new project, setup the DVD menu and burn to disc. Hopefully that gives you the results you are looking for...
I tried what you suggested and the exported movie was cutting the clips out too soon as well.
Did the cut out happen at the same point from the export and the DVD burn?
It could be that in the project there is a transition that ends and may be sending a end point for the video as well... Basically, is there anything in the project that happens or stops happening when the clip cuts out from the export or DVD?
Lastly, it could be a program error.
I would think though if it were a program error we would have a lot more users with that issue. I have burned countless numbers of DVD and Blu-ray discs with Movie Edit Pro, and I haven’t had an error like this unless it was my own doing. What is puzzling is that the project playback is fine, yet the export was not.
Is there a way you can take a screen shot of the project (where the whole project shows), this way maybe I can spot something.
Ok, there is a couple screen shots. The first one is the whole thing and the second one is a close up of one that its cutting out. In the second one it is cutting out right about the middle, where the diamond shape thingy is at.
