Anyone use these templates please? I can't work out how to customise it using the settings offered.

Terry,

Just tried Aurora Blue here in a project with four different clips. Auto markers gave the expected start of each clip as the chapter images and the main movie image was the start (at 0:0:2:0) of the first clip. Added a few still images and (after resetting the chapter markers) still everything seems OK.

You say you are using a still image, but your screen shot shows 'Use image from movie' selected rather than 'Use other image' which is selected from the media pool even if it is already in the project. If you make any changes to your project you might get something other than your intended image at 0:13:0:18.

You say a '...series of clips...'. Do you mean each time you use the menu it's different or what? The movie menu image should be static in this template -- not like "warm Pan' etc with (random ha ha!) user footage.

Regards,

Carl

Hi Carl,

Thanks for trying it.

Maybe our apparently very different results are because our projects are so different. Mine has many movie clips and photos. I have only a single chapter menu, at the start.

When I open that template I get a black clip displayed. The screenshot was obtained by right-clicking it and selecting Properties. In the Menu entry properties dialog, for one thing I don't see why it's asking for a frame . The menu I see shows a series of 10 clips, not one (assuming you have at least 10; presumably it repeats otherwise?). They appear to be 'randomly' distributed.

Despite not understanding the dialog, I changed the Position to a point 0:13:0:18 in my project that happens to contain a still image (a photo with no KF so far). That does not appear as one of the 10 clips in the menu.

What 'image' is this supposed to set?

I added 5 chapter markers and open Burn again but that dialog and the menu preview remained the same.

I then opened Edit and the Video dialog:

It's currently apparently set to 'Use background project'. The name of that 'project' is unreadable as some bright spark has given it a dark grey font on a black background. But if you temporarily click 'Use frame from movie' its font becomes white and it is revealed as 'Instant blue.MMT

The underscore doesn't display, a frequent other souce of confusion. It's actually C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2014 Premium\DVD\Layout\2011_c_instant\instant_blue.MMT

But that's as far I've got. How to use this dialog? How does its default setting give me the menu I'm getting? Does that MMT contain some hard coded selection of positions within the user's movie? If so, how does that square with your test menu, which I gather is what you'd expect?

I'm running out of time (need to pack for my USA trip) so I'll probably have to drop it for now, but I'd love to know if you can make sense of it please. At present I find it obscure!
