When editing a movie and adding a new clip I cannot scroll through the clip. If I highlight the clip and try to replay it, the program jumps right back to the first clip in the already edited video
Leon, the basic way to "scroll" through a clip is to drag the Orange Play Marker along the timeline over the clip. To play the clip, position the Play Marker at the start of the clip and press Play or tap the space bar.
You can also scroll through a clip using the jog wheel or use the Play slider, as per my post here:

In Magix, when the mouse pointer is in the timeline area, the mouse wheel scrolls the whole timeline left and right.

Further to what @AAProds wrote, make sure you have "move playback marker when object is selected" ticked.
