Effects (Movie Looks): Silent Film Style?

Hello everyone. I'm a new user to Video Pro X. I've made a short b/w silent film and in this short film we cut to some actual footages of Muranau's Nosferatu, which was made back in 1922. Now the thing is I've shot the video in HD with Canon 5D. So obviously the texture, the feel, the look and the atmosphere of my video is totally different than Nosferatu's. Nosferatu's image is grainy and has scratches. Now I've got 2 questions:

1. Is there any way to make these 2 different videos (my film and Nosferatu) look same? Do you know any filter, effect or any possible way to to this in Video Pro X?

2. I've applied the "16mm Movie Look" [from Effects] in Video Pro X to both videos and they look 'kinda' the same. But the problem is this 16mm movie look is way too flashy. Is there any way to control/handle the 'Movie Looks' in Video Pro X? I mean can I reduce the noises, the white spots and change the '16mm' look?

Here's a screenshot (the left image is my Full HD Canon 5D taken video and the right one is from Nosferatu - the 16mm effect is applied to both):

Many thanks in Advance

All I want to know is: Is it possible to customize the "Effects -> Movie Looks > 16mm" in Video Pro X or not? Can I reduce the noises, the white spots and other elements of this specific effect or is it fixed and cannot be customized?

Hi,

Yes. If it's the same as mine, you have your video on track 1, audio on 2, Mix object on 3 that looks black but is really black with intermittent white splotches, alpha object on 4. You can try increasing the transparency of the Mix object on track 3 by dragging down the middle handle. Or, ungroup the whole thing and delete the objects on tracks 3 and 4. Click on track 1 video and look at the keyframing area below the effects. You will see a lot of effects that were added. Play with the corresponding effects to get what you want.

@SullyPanda76us

What did you try to do, and with which version of VPX?
