Empty MVP files

I have Movie Edit Pro Premium. I saved two MVP files last night. I can see them in the file explorer. One is 1kb and the other is 2kbs. When I click on them to open them, I get nothing. Says "empty." Can anyone help. This is a new problem. I have saved MVPs before and I'm able to reopen older ones. I have a lot of work to do by Friday. Please help!

The size of those project files means they have somehow become corrupted and hence are, as you say, "empty". There's no way for anyone here on the forum to say exactly how they became so but, if you create a new project, put one image file or video object on the timeline, then "save" and close the project, does this project re-open correctly? If it does, that suggests there is possibly nothing wrong with your MEP installation and the two "failed" files are going to have to be put down to "bad luck". OTOH, if this simple project fails to re-open properly then I think you are going to need to raise a Support ticket and ask that Magix send you their Syscheck utility to run a full scan on your system, to see if it suggests any reason for the failure to create these project files. One thought: is there sufficient free space on your hard drive where these project files are being saved to ?

As to retrieving something from those corrupted files; do you have any _.BAK files for the two projects? By default MEP creates such a file every 10 or 15 minutes so, by carefully checking the creation times of those files, you should be able to start by attempting to open the most recent version. If that is successful, immediately save the project under a new name. If that first file is similarly "damaged", then try with the next oldest one, and so on. Just remember to save the project under a new name as soon as you are able to successfully open one of those .BAK files.

How many video/image/audio objects were there on the timelines?
