Hi

You have given insufficient information about the problem - we need:

   - Movie Edit Pro version

   - full computer specification

   - type and format of video on the timeline

   - make and type of the DVDs

   - the Burn settings

   - copy of the error log from the start of the burn process to just after where the error appears.

With this information we may be able to help.

. . . Roxio and Nero before and they were very simple . . .

True howeverr you have moved up, in terms of the software capabilities, to a much more sophisticated video editor.

If you have not done so, read through the installed pdf manual - available under Help.

With in the burn menu select the adapt encoder option and it will properly adjust your encoding settings to match the capabilites of the DVD you are burning to.  Hope this helps

I am using the Movie pro edit 2014. it's an hp windows 8 and it is brand new. I've used a few different types of dvd mainly the Sony dvd+R. The burn settings.  I try using what comes up and I've also tried changing a couple of things that didn't work either. When I first hit burn it tells me the move does not contain any chapter marker at the beginning of hte movie or automically create chapter markers at the beginning of each object. my choices are "only one marker", "automatic marker",  "more options"  I have tried most everything. When I hit burn the window that says dvd burning comes up.

Hi,

If it were me and I was on a tight deadline, I would not even bother with using MEP to burn the disc.  I would try "Encode in directory" then use something like ImgBurn which is free to burn the disc from the directory you encoded to.  ImgBurn is free and can be downloaded here, just make sure you do a custom install and not accept any of the tool bars, add ons, etc.

If this does not work, check you DVD drive.  I recently had mine fail so that too is a possibility, even with a new computer.  Finally there is a possibility that one of the images in your production is causing the encoding error (small but possible).
