I am confused!

Can you give a lot more details about what you mean when you say you can zoom in but then lose the important images? The act of zooming in should not make anything become "lost" unless you are zooming in so far that the "edges" of the video are hidden.

What is the frame size etc. of the video you are importing? Have you made sure to set your Movie Settings to match that frame size? (These settings are created when you "Create Project". See the screenshot below and especially check your settings of the highlighted area.)

Don't copy what you see in my screenshot unless your video footage is the same frame size, the same frame rate, etc. Make those settings match your footage.

Do you mean:

  1. You are getting black bars at the top/bottom (letter boxing) or left/right (pillar boxing) when you import the video clip?

    and
     
  2. When you zoom to fix this you are losing some of the image from left/right or top/bottom respectively?

Are all the video clips in the project doing this or just some?
