Enter transitions twice

Leroy-Johnson wrote on 8/19/2022, 11:13 PM

I recently purchased Movie studio 2022 version 21.0.2.138(UDP3)

I am creating a photo slideshow. When inserting transitions between photos sometimes it works correctly. Other times it will not be inserted. It will however show up on the recently used list and when I click on it there it will be inserted. So far everything else is working fine.

Is it the software or am I somehow confusing the software?

Hi

What is the graphics card installed in the PC and are the graphics drivers up to date.

Which transitions are causing the issue?

I am using NVidia GeForce GTX 1650. Per windows I am using the best driver, last updated 11/22/2020. However the NVidia site says that there is an update available.

I may be wrong but this seems more like a program issue. I have been using Pinnacle Studio and have not had this problem. Of course inserting transitions is done differently.

It's a mix of the transitions that are acting strange.

@Leroy-Johnson Hi, I'm not sure if you typed that wrong, graphics drivers are updated every few wks / month or so,

Install Geforce Experience, it's free from NVidia to help keep your Graphics drivers up to date, Studio driver or Game driver people have different opinions about which is best but either should work https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/geforce-experience/

Mine last updated 08/09/2022

Hi

. . . . Per windows I am using the best driver, last updated 11/22/2020 . . . .

Windows unfortunately does not tell the truth when it comes to many drivers - the current version number for your GPU is 516.94 (31.0.15.1694)

Magix recommend using the Gaming (GRD) drivers.

. . . . this seems more like a program issue. I have been using Pinnacle Studio and have not had this problem. . . .

Comparing to what other programs do, or do not do, is not a valid comparison - the two programs have different video engines.

. . . . It's a mix of the transitions that are acting strange. . . .

Can you give specific examples of which ones?

Greetings @Leroy-Johnson

I do a fair few slideshows and have had a similar experience happen on occasion, Every time it's been because the 2 photos I've been trying to transition (?? that doesn't sound right) have had an imperceptable gap between them.

This may be the reason why some of your transitions work and some don't. Enlarge the timeline, remove the gap and the transition works.

Of course, your problem could easily be something else.

Hi,

Here are a couple of tutorials about transitions that you should watch to make sure that you have a good understanding of transitions and transition templates.. We need to know how you made the transitions that don't work and which templates are giving you problems.

Thanks for all the reply's. I have recreated the slideshow from scratch to test a solution that was given. The only thing I did different was to select all photos and had them dropped into the storyboard in mass. Inserting the transitions worked as designed.

This just proves my theory. Computers are organic and they know when they are being watched.
